


The only real difference between a physical and digital gift card is the amount of money they come in. Steam also offers digital gift cards, so the process can be done entirely online. A physical gift card is a lovely addition to a traditional birthday or Christmas card - nicer than handwriting an activation code at the bottom.

When using the Wallet for purchases from the Store, taxes and other additional payment aside from the software's retail value are not deducted from the user's wallet.While Steam is an online-only service, it still offers gift cards which can be bought in many stores. Users are also able to purchase software and content from the Store by selecting the Steam Wallet option during checkout.

Items can only be bought from the Market using the Wallet. As with online fund purchases, users are not able to load the card with a custom fund amount. Users may also redeem funds from a Steam Gift Card however, these cards only allow values of $20.00, $50.00 and $100.00 per card. The user may not input a custom value, nor may they add funds lower than $5.00, or more than $100.00 at a time. Users may add funds to their Wallet by using an accepted credit card.įunds may be added to the Wallet through use of a credit card, or gained by selling an item on the Market.
